Halogen Capital Launched to Make Crypto Investing Mainstream in Malaysia
Malaysia’s newest crypto fund management firm, Halogen Capital, has been launched by the entrepreneurs behind the local fintech player Jirnexu. The founders, Hann Liew and Lucas Ooi have been designated as the company’s CEO and Chief Business Officer respectively. This launch aims to make crypto investing easily accessible to institutional and individual investors through familiar traditional structures such as mutual funds, managed portfolios, and ETFs.
Halogen Capital offers a spot Bitcoin (BTC) fund and a lower-risk Income Fund denominated in Malaysian ringgit, with an Ethereum (ETH) fund coming soon. Additionally, custom-designed investment portfolios are available for certain private clients. All of these funds are Shariah compliant and open to both retail and institutional investors.
Halogen Capital is the first crypto fund provider to be fully regulated by the Securities Commission (SC) Malaysia which allows it to accept investments from both local individuals as well as institutions.
Hann Liew shared news of this new venture on his LinkedIn post where he said that he had followed cryptocurrency more closely over the past several years. He expressed his intention for making crypto investing mainstream in Malaysia through this venture which would make use of traditional structures like mutual funds etcetera .
