The Great Peace
The
Great Peace comes alive on CD-ROM. Working World Training Centre has come together with
Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) to produce an exciting interactive program that
is inviting as it is interesting. The subject of the CD-ROM is the coming together of the
Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Nations).
The main menu is composed of five
icons representing different phases of the Great Peace. Illustrations, photographs,
animations and video sequences seamlessly provide a unique program that will be a great
benefit to Aboriginal people.
The CD-ROM is a perfect
educational tool because it interacts on three levels: elementary, secondary and
post-secondary. The help function is fun and easy to operate and understand. The narration
is somewhat monotone at times but is usually warm and welcoming.
Information is bulging out of this
program which boasts 2600 screens, 37 bibliographies and covers over 30 topics. Everything
you need is just a click away. Check out this CD-ROM by calling Working World Training
Centre at (519) 753-1111 or write to 188 Mohawk Street, Brantford, ON N3S 2X2.
