The Great Peace Interactive Journey
This part of the CD is approximately 2600 screens, and is the major information section within The Great Peace...The Gathering of Good Minds CD-ROM.
At the main menu, click on the Great Peace Interactive Journey icon. You will arrive at the main interface screen for the Great Peace Interactive Journey section. This Artwork menu is the triptych artwork shown in three panels. As you scroll over a panel of the artwork, it will highlight and the name Right Panel, Centre Panel, or Left Panel will appear at the bottom of the screen. Just click on the panel of your choice.
In the panel of your choice, you will be invited by a chief of the nations contained in this panel to explore his nation. Press the spacebar to by-pass this introduction. Return Arrow will take you back to the Interactive Journey Artwork menu.
Other topics are also available from each panel of artwork. Scroll over the picture. An object in the picture highlights and the topic title appears in the upper right corner of the screen. A click on the highlighted area takes you to the information on that particular topic. Arrows allow you to go back and forth page by page.
Help (?) - Stix, the help buddy, also explains the function of the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
Each topic presents three levels of information. The separation of this information into levels is offered for convenience only and no student should feel limited to any one section. Click on blocks I, books II, cap III.
Level I This information is written at an easy level and is appropriate for most elementary students from late primary and beyond.
Level II This information is more in depth and is appropriate for late elementary and secondary levels.
Level III This section contains essays and an extensive reading list on the topic. This level is appropriate for secondary and post secondary students for independent research. As well, educators will find this section useful in locating background information on a particular topic.
