Birth of the Great Law

This section gives a brief account of the how the Iroquois, the Haudenosaunee or People of the Longhouse, were brought out of the troubled times which had taken over their lives. It tells how the Creator sent His messenger, the Peacemaker, to the warring Iroquois nations to deliver the message of the Great Peace or the Great Law. The Haudenosaunee people were given the message of peace, which would end the wars and join the five warring nations into one confederacy. This peace came to the Iroquoian people through their acceptance of the Peacemaker’s message of peace, power and righteousness.
